Don Schlitz receives Academy of Country Music Poet's Award

The Academy of Country Music has announced the winners of the ACM Honors, a special event set for Tuesday, September 20, 2010 in Nashville. Don Schlitz and Cindy Walker have been selected to receive the Poet’s Award, which honors songwriters for outstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their careers in the field of country music.
The previous recipients of the Poet's Award are Bill Anderson, Merle Haggard, Harlan Howard and Fred Rose.
